2021 NSW COVID-19 jobSaver Payment – Reconfirming your eligibility

JobSaver Payment is an ongoing support for businesses impacted during 2021 NSW COVID-19. The applications will close at 11:59 pm on 18 October 2021. For full details, please refer to our blog.

Due to ease of restriction in some industries and regions, Services NSW is asking businesses to reconfirm their eligibility for JobSaver Payment every fortnight.

If you need any assistance on the application, confirming or reconfirming of your eligibility, please make a bookings. Advisor fees will be applicable. Our services will be prioritised based on the booking orders.

Who

For the businesses continue to receive JobSaver Payment for the fortnight from 13 September to 26 September 2021, and each fortnight thereon for the duration of the program.

What to reconfirm

30% or more decline in turnover for the fortnight that you are reconfirming and maintaining your employee headcount stated in your application if you are an employment business.

Comparison period

If your initial comparison period was either 2019 or 2020.

Option 1

You can use the same year indicated in your initial application, but the corresponding fortnight is the current fortnight. For example, in your initial application, you compared 1 August to 14 August 2021 to 1 August to 14 August 2020. When you reconfirm the fortnight 13 September to 26 September, you will compare it with the fortnight 13 September to 26 September 2020. You cannot use 2019 instead.

Option 2

Using the same comparison period that you used in your initial application. For example, in your initial application, you compared the period of 26 June to 9 July 2021 to 26 June to 9 July 2019, now your comparison period remains the same as 26 June to 9 July 2019. This comparison period remains fixed for all future periods.

If your comparison period was 12 June to 25 June 2021

You will always use this period to compare any fortnight that you are reconfirming. This comparison period remains fixed for all further periods.

You need to use the same approach each time you reconfirm your eligibility.

What if the period in your initial application is more than 14 days

Your turnover amount for the comparison period must be converted to a fortnightly amount by dividing the numbers of the days in the period and multiplying by 14.

When to reconfirm

It will be at the end of each fortnight. However, if you are unable to confirm every fortnight, you can delay your reconfirmation and reconfirm for multiple fortnights in one go.

When to receive the payment

You will receive your payment within 5 business days of reconfirming your eligibility.

It appears that September payments will continue even if you do not confirm eligibility. However, any payments after that will only be processed once eligibility is confirmed.

What if you do not qualify for the fortnight

If you are ineligible for one fortnight, you can still qualify for the future fortnights where you meet the eligibility conditions. You will not need to re-apply.

What if your business was still closed during the fortnight

You can simply select ‘yes’ on the confirmation screen without needing a calculation of the decline in turnover.

What documents to provide

You will NOT need to provide any additional evidence or attach any documentation when reconfirming your eligibility. However, you will still need to keep adequate records to show evidence of your eligibility if required at a later date.

It’s an offence under the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) to provide false or misleading information.
